CACEO Certification
Certification Update - December 4, 2007
Intermediate (Updates I-IV) - 4 one-day courses from the college complete Intermediate Module
We are changing the requirements for 2007 since the online course cannot be presented this year and the V(5th) class in the Intermediate Series won't be available until 2008. CACEO will accept certificates from colleges for Intermediate (Updates I-IV) to satisfy the requirement for the Intermediate module. We understand that merit pay is tied directly to obtaining the certification and CACEO has decided it would be fair to change the requirements for 2007. If you have any questions, please contact Kaila Ricci. Please refer to the Certification page for pricing of certificates by clicking here: Certification Flowchart
Please mail your certificates with payment to:

Letter from the Education Chair
August 2007
It is with great pleasure that CACEO announces the completion of the new certification test for 2007 and beyond. Many hours of research and hard work have gone into the formulation of a certification test that will reflect the knowledge of the many disciplines required to fulfill the needs of the position of Certified Code Enforcement Officer. It continues to be the desire of the Education Committee and the entire Board to maintain a training and certification program that will demand the respect and validity of this growing professional classification in government.
The test has approximately 200 questions dealing with zoning, Officer safety, techniques of investigation, applicable legal knowledge, and both basic and advanced knowledge of current building codes. The test is open book and participating members of CACEO who desire to and have the requisite experience to bypass portions of the test may bring any reference manual they would like.
