Gang Awareness for Code Enforcement

This class is an expansion of the four hour module offered in the certification academy and goes into depth about the history of gangs, the dynamics of the group and how to recognize and deal with gang members. The class involves a mixture of videos, printed material, lecture and a few case studies to help the student better understand the gang mentality and gang culture. Gangs are very present in our society and most people probably miss some of the telltale signs that let them know they are interacting with gang members. They have done a very good job of being assimilated into the main stream culture to become more effective for the needs of the gang.
