California Association of Code Enforcement Officers

Home

Greetings to all my fellow code enforcement professionals!

I have the privilege of following in the footsteps of some very qualified individuals who have worked tirelessly to improve the efforts of representing every person who works in our field. I would like to express the honor that I feel in continuing the legacy of this great organization as the 2008 president; and the promise that I will strive to further the goals of CACEO and its members.

The last few years have been of monumental importance to all of us. The Board of Directors, comprised of current and new board members who have volunteered their time and efforts, will be a strong force to deal with improving our image, our training and certification, and the ability to gain more power and recognition through current and future legislation.

Our city and county jurisdictions have come to understand the importance of hiring and retaining educated and experienced individuals, with the primary focus of improving and maintaining the quality of life in their communities through the expert and consistent enforcement of rules and regulations. CACEO will be there to facilitate the needs of our members, and thereby the needs of California communities in providing the educated individuals to meet these goals.

I am confident that this organization can and will respond to the needs of the members through the availability of our expert administrative staff and board members. We look forward to the willingness of our membership to participate in the efforts necessary to meet the ever changing environment that we all come in contact with as we perform our daily duties. We are entrusted with the responsibility of providing fair and ethical treatment for all citizens, while still maintaining the integrity of our field. This is never easy and the ability to meet these goals will continue to improve our personal character.

Please remember to check in with the CACEO website as often as you can, as we are making constant changes; and please do not hesitate to contact your local representatives with issues, concerns or recommendations for improving our organization.

Also, remember that the 2008 CACEO seminar is being held in South Lake Tahoe. I would love to see you all there!

Thank you

Michael J. Reynolds, President
